BPC-157 PEPTIDE
The Multi-Tissue Repair Peptide
Also known as: Body Protection Compound-157, Bepecin, PL-14736
Why Researchers Choose BPC-157 Unlike most peptides that target a single tissue type, BPC-157 demonstrates activity across multiple systems—muscles, tendons, gastrointestinal tissue, and even nervous system models. This makes it uniquely valuable for comparative tissue repair studies and understanding fundamental healing mechanisms that work across different biological systems.
What It Is BPC-157 is a synthetic fragment of a protective protein naturally found in gastric fluid. Think of it like isolating the one active component that drives the effect, and studying just that.
Researchers became interested because early studies showed protective and reparative effects across diverse tissue types—an unusual characteristic that continues to drive research interest.
How It Works (What Makes It Interesting) Studies suggest BPC-157 may influence tissue repair through several mechanisms:
- Angiogenesis promotion – Encourages new blood vessel formation, increasing nutrient and oxygen delivery to damaged areas
- Collagen synthesis – Stimulates production of structural proteins essential for tissue integrity
- Cellular migration – Activates pathways (FAK/paxillin signaling) that help repair cells reach injury sites
- Gut-systemic axis – May support gut lining integrity, which research suggests could influence systemic recovery processes
Common Research Applications
- Musculoskeletal Models: Tendon tears, ligament injuries, muscle damage, post-injury recovery
- Gastrointestinal Research: Ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, leaky gut models, gut barrier protection
- Joint & Cartilage Studies: Cartilage repair mechanisms, osteoarthritis models
- Neurological Research: Nerve damage, traumatic brain injury, neuroprotection studies (animal models)
- General Wound Healing: Tissue repair mechanisms, recovery pathway analysis

BPC-157 Research Overview
BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide based on a sequence from a protein found in human gastric juice. It is one of the most frequently studied tissue-repair peptides in preclinical research, most of it in rat models of tendon, ligament and gastrointestinal injury. Its proline-rich structure makes it unusually stable, including in gastric acid.

How BPC-157 Is Thought to Work
No single receptor for BPC-157 has been identified. Cell and animal studies point to several pathways:
- Cell migration and survival. In tendon fibroblasts, BPC-157 increased FAK and paxillin phosphorylation and F-actin formation, supporting cell spreading and migration [1].
- Growth hormone receptor expression. BPC-157 increased growth hormone receptor expression in tendon fibroblasts in a dose- and time-dependent way [2].
- Blood-vessel formation. In a rat alkali-burn model and in cultured endothelial cells, BPC-157 was associated with increased VEGF expression, cell migration and angiogenesis [3].
Key Preclinical Findings
- Tendon. In rats with a transected Achilles tendon, BPC-157 improved healing on biomechanical, functional and microscopic measures, and stimulated tendon-cell growth in vitro [4].
- Ligament. In a rat medial collateral ligament injury model, BPC-157 improved functional, biomechanical and histological healing outcomes [5].
- Gastrointestinal tract. BPC-157 has been studied across many rodent models of gastric and intestinal lesions; the research group that first described it reviews that work in [6].
Research Limitations
- Nearly all published data comes from animal and cell studies. No completed, peer-reviewed human clinical trial has been published.
- The primary molecular target has not been identified.
- Long-term safety has not been established in any species.
- Much of the published literature comes from a single research group, and independent replication is limited.
Regulatory Status
BPC-157 is not approved by the U.S. FDA for any human use, and the FDA has said it cannot be used in compounded drugs. The World Anti-Doping Agency lists BPC-157 as prohibited under category S0 (Non-Approved Substances).
Research Classification: BPC-157 is provided strictly for laboratory research purposes and is not intended for human consumption, clinical applications, or any diagnostic or therapeutic use.

When we run a peptide production batch, we produce all vial strengths (MG sizes) in the same run using the same raw material, lyophilization cycle, and fill/finish process.
This keeps quality consistent and costs under control.
Because all strengths come from the same production batch, they carry the same batch number, and the COA shown below applies to all MG sizes from that batch.
If a specific MG size is ever produced under a different batch number, its separate COA will be listed as well.
The Cenexa Labs Gold Standard
Most peptide sites simply resell vials from overseas labs with little oversight or testing (Much of it is either fake or laced with contaminants). At Cenexa Labs, we manufacture our own peptides under strict USA-based standards…right here IN THE USA. From synthesis to lyophilization to final vial, every step is handled under our direct control — so you never have to question what you’re getting.
We might not be the cheapest, but you can count on our peptides being 100% legit and free from contaminants, heavy metals and toxins.
Why Researchers Choose Cenexa Labs
- End-to-End Chain of Custody: Every batch is logged, tested, and traceable — no middlemen, no relabeling, no guesswork.
- Lot-Linked COAs: Each vial’s lot number ties directly to third-party HPLC/MS results. No recycled or generic COAs.
- We’re the Manufacturer: Because we produce in-house, we control purity, potency, and compliance — instead of reselling from anonymous overseas labs.
- Verified Purity, Every Time: 99%+ purity confirmed on every batch by independent labs, not just claimed on a label.
- GMP-Aligned, USA Based: Manufactured domestically in controlled GMP, ISO 9001-audited facilities.
- Fast, Reliable Fulfillment: Orders placed by 2pm CST ship the same business day. Free USPS Priority on orders $300+. $9.95 Flat rate shipping on all other orders with 2-3 day delivery.
- Backed by Trust: Over 18,000 researchers nationwide rely on Cenexa Labs for consistent, verifiable peptides.
- Room Temperature (Unmixed): Lyophilized (powder) peptides are stable for 3–4 months at room temperature if kept sealed and away from direct light.
- Freezer (Unmixed): For long-term storage, place vials in a freezer. Depending on temperature, peptides can remain stable for 1–3 years.
- After Reconstitution: Once mixed with bacteriostatic water, peptides must be stored in the refrigerator and remain stable for up to 30 days.
All Cenexa peptides are manufactured 100% end-to-end here in the USA using the Lyophilization (Freeze Drying) process. This ensures maximum stability and quality.
Best Practice:
Only reconstitute your peptides when you’re ready to begin using them. Until then, keep vials in their lyophilized powder form, stored in the freezer and away from light.
Fast Processing: We strive to ship same-day. During high-volume times it may take 2–3 days for your package to enter the mailstream. (You’ll see a notice at checkout and can upgrade if you need guaranteed same-day shipping.)
- Flat Rate Shipping: $9.95 on all orders (USPS Priority Mail 2–3 days).
- Free Shipping: Orders over $300 ship free.
- Expedited Options: Faster methods available at checkout.
Important: Orders paid by eCheck won’t ship until payment clears our bank (usually 2–3 business days after it leaves your account).
All products are carefully packaged for safe arrival.
